Rich and decadent Dark Chocolate Raspberry Fudge Brownies that you won’t believe are made with whole food ingredients. Gooey Paleo fudge brownie batter is swirled with a simple raspberry sauce and baked to perfection! Gluten free, grain free, dairy free, Paleo.
These Dark Chocolate Raspberry Fudge brownies were inspired by the upcoming holiday that starts with a “V” and ends with a “times Day” – uh, just kidding – “tines Day.” I had to put that in because the “times” thing has been a pet peeve of my since probably second grade. There is nothing that will make me judge you like hearing an mm where an nn should be.
Now that that’s out of the way…I’m guessing you guys are smart enough to realize that these are for V-Day anyway, even if I had protested and said I was just really in the mood for pink/red fruity chocolate fudge brownies. Although come to think of it I eat strawberries with dark chocolate every night, so it’s not like raspberries is a big leap. Plus, you can definitely make this with strawberries if you prefer, or really with any frozen fruit. I like adaptable recipes – don’t want to feel tied down to a single type of berry, you know?
I was thinking of having that whole Valentines Day discussion about what you think of the holiday, if you do gifts and blah blah blah. But I won’t, because I guess I don’t care that much. I like chocolate, I like cute teddy bears and I don’t make much of a big deal about it otherwise. One thing I’m not a fan of though is flowers. Please, don’t buy me flowers for any reason because 1.) I don’t have any room for them 2.) I will kill them in 2 days and 3.) They don’t add to my home decor of naked barbie dolls, play dough, and 500 crumpled drawings of stick figures.
Truthfully, there is nothing that anyone can do on or around Valentines Day that will convince me they love me, at least nothing specifically V-day related. You know what would convince me though? Bathing my children, cooking their meals for them, and vacuuming my house. Any day will work. I’m wooing myself just thinking about these things happening. If anyone is up for it, I will gladly accept you as my Valentine.
And no, I can’t ever resist my desire for clichéd mom-humor, holiday or no holiday, so if you’re my Valentine you’ll have to put up with that, too. Sorry, it’s part of who I am at this point.
Do you want in on this recipe for Dark Raspberry Fudge Brownies or what? Yes, you do, and you won’t believe how easily it all comes together. My only word of advice is to make sure you wait a good hour until they completely cool before digging in. I know this is hard to do! Honestly I haven’t quite mastered it myself, but I do know that all the Paleo brownies I made are chewier and fudge-ier if I wait for them to cool at least to room temp. The coconut oil works magic in these bad boys once it has a chance to firm up a little bit. The raspberry part also gets gooier. Have I convinced you to wait? Good. Now we can get started!
Dark Chocolate Raspberry Fudge Brownies {Paleo}
Dark Chocolate Raspberry Fudge Brownies {Paleo}
Ingredients
For the brownie batter
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup extra virgin coconut oil melted and cooled
- 3/4 cup organic coconut sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup blanched almond flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- pinch fine grain sea salt
- 1/3 cup Enjoy Life dark chocolate chips
For the Raspberry Sauce
- 1 and 1/2 cups frozen raspberries
- 1 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp organic coconut sugar or more if you want a sweeter sauce
Instructions
Make the raspberry sauce first:
-
In a small or medium saucepan over low heat, combine the raspberries and water and stir until softened.
-
Add the coconut sugar and stir while continuing to cook, until a sauce forms (about 15 minutes)
-
When the mixture thickens and begins to simmer, remove from heat and set aside to allow to cool.
Make the Brownie Batter:
-
Line an 8 x 8 inch baking dish with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
-
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, coconut sugar, coconut oil and vanilla.
-
In a separate bowl, combine the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
-
Carefully stir the dry mixture into the wet until fully combined, then stir in the chocolate chips.
-
Carefully pour about 3/4 of the brownie batter into the lined baking dish, then pour all the raspberry sauce (it should be about 2/3 cup) over the batter. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the raspberry sauce, scraping the bowl with a spatula. Then use the spatula to gently swirl the brownie batter with the raspberry sauce.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the center is just set. Check around 30 minutes to prevent over-baking!
-
Once center is just set, remove from oven and allow to sit and cool for at least an hour, preferably 2, before cutting and serving. These can be stored covered in the refrigerator or at room temperature, depending your preference. Enjoy!
What’s your dream Valentines Day gift?
What can I do to convince you that I love you?
Raspberry sauce or another fruit? I won’t be offended 🙂

I’ve been waiting for this since I saw your post on instagram! I think I would like someone to clean my house and do the laundry, I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Maybe also do all the annoying weekend errands that I don’t feel like dealing with:)
Michele says
Yup, I’ll second those things!
The Cookie ChRUNicles says
I want to make these today but of course I have everything but almond flour and I don’t think coconut flour will work? They look so fudgy! And no, I don’t think I could wait the hour lol…Excited to see you tomorrow!
Michele says
I wouldn’t know how much coconut flour! It’s so dense. Yay for finally meeting up tomorrow!
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious says
Fab fab fabulous! Chocolate and raspberry are my favorite flavors! I’m not a big Valentine’s Day person either but I’ll take chocolate anytime!
Michele says
I hear you! It’s possible I only celebrate V-day for the chocolate 🙂
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets says
I would like someone who cleans the house, makes me these brownies and buys me flowers. Flowers make me happy, whether they’re in my yard, on the table or at the botanical gardens. The same goes for fudge brownies with raspberries. I’ll take ’em any way I can get ’em.
Michele says
I sorta wish I had more flower love! You make flowers look amazing though even to me!
Mel_OutRunCF says
We will go to our hometown for a wedding on Valentine’s week-end…which means my parents and in-laws are going to be around…which will lead to the incredible luxury of having a date night with my husband for Valentine’s Day! haha 😉 Helping with the little one is definitely the way to my heart! 😉 Fruit sauce? I’d go with mango or pineapple, although I don’t think it would work with a brownie!
Michele says
Woohoo! Date nights are fun, and something about valentines day makes them special to our still-14-year-old hearts I think 🙂
SuzLyfe says
Good lord. When I was growing up, I used to be in love with the raspberry filled dark chocolate Godiva bars. We spent a lot of time in Barnes and Noble, and they had them at the cash registers, and I just about always made off with one 😀 I think that these are the next step in my journey 😀
Michele says
I know exactly the ones you mean and I can picture them at b&n!
Lesq says
I was once told by a very wise, open-minded and well-lived, seasoned woman that celebrate everything you can in life, no matter how minuscule, because there is so much harshness and mundane in this life that every celebration should be a rejuvenating blast. She always said celebrate your own way with a full and open heart, with those you love, in the way you feel is appropriate and come away with a renewed and lightened spirit. Ever since, I celebrate the joy of being together the rest is just useless window dressing.
Michele says
That’s a lovely way to live!

MMM these look so amazing! I’m all about that raspberry sauce 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Michele says
Thanks! I am too 🙂
cottercrunch says
my fav fruit cimbi!!! and i’m picky about that. so well done friend, well done!
Michele says
Thanks! It’s a good one, though I’d take strawberry too 🙂
Ashley @ Fit Mitten Kitchen says
Michele these sound AMAZING! I’m loving the raspberry sauce so much! And I feel you on V-day. Not really my favorite. I’d rather get flowers randomly than on a particular day. Or honestly, chocolate. Just give me chocolate all the time. I don’t need them to be heart shaped, just give me a bigass bar of dark dark chocolate.
Michele says
Haha yes, chocolate 🙂 Extra big extra dark bar of chocolate! Thanks so much Ashley!
Sue @ This Mama Runs For Cupcakes says
These look amazing! Definitely raspberry all the way!
Michele says
Thanks Sue!

I’ve been drooling over the photo of this fudge on instagram (or your last post?) already! I’m hastily that the recipe is so easy to make-Its on my list! We don’t celebrate valentine’s day at all, never have. I’ll make these just on some random day when I have spare time 😉 I prefer strawberries over raspberries but all berries are great of course!
Michele says
Yup I think Instagram, thanks! I love strawberries with chocolate too. Might even be my favorite! I’ll have to work on that one 🙂
athleticavocado says
Okay I need to make these now! pinning!!!!
Michele says
Awesome, thanks!
Polyglot Jot says
My favorite valentines day gift is a heartfelt message. Im that person weeping in the card aisle….
I think I’d love this with strawberries because chocolate and strawberries are my favorite combo!
I will hardcore judge someone that says Valentimes day too….its the worst!
Michele says
That is so sweet 🙂 I might have to try this myself with strawberries!
renaissancerunnergirl says
Raspberries and dark chocolate together? Sold. I’ve come up with a mix of peanut and quinoa flour that seems to mimic almond flour pretty well!
Michele says
That’s so cool! Finding equivalent flours is really tricky!
Laura @ Mommy Run Fast says
I’ve bookmarked so many of your recipes- and today we have a surprise snow day so I am hoping to spend some time in the kitchen. Dark chocolate and raspberry is one of my favorite combos!
Michele says
I know – couldn’t believe the snow this morning! Thanks Laura!
Strength and Sunshine says
You know choco raspberry wins for me!!
OMG! YES! Hahaha! I hate (well dislike) flowers too! Why!!???? Such a waste and they DO NOT “smell good” I’ve never had flowers smell…good? What does that even mean….all that you smell is when you put your nose right in the flower and you smell…plant. That’s it….and yes, then they die in like a day….
Michele says
Oh I am so with you on that! I just don’t “get” flowers 🙂
Hayley says
Raspberries are actually the ONLY fruit I like mixed with chocolate. I really don’t like fruity desserts usually, but raspberries are a different story for some weird reason. Maybe the tart/sweetness combination? Anyways, these look heavenly. I am right there with you about Valentine’s Day and could care less about it. Except I do get a box of my favorite See’s every year which I won’t complain about.
Michele says
The sweet tart is awesome! I also like strawberry and cherry with chocolate though. Now I’m craving chocolate cherries! And See’s on the west coast – yum!
laura @ scribbles and sass says
beautiful photography! the recipe sounds delicious and pretty easy. my favourite type!
Michele says
Thanks so much! And yes I’m definitely a fan of easy!
Amanda @ .running with spoons. says
I’m not crazy about raspberries on their own, but I do love them paired with chocolate. These look great, lady! And you know I’m all over those awesome ingredients!
Michele says
Thanks Amanda! There are quite a few things I don’t love alone but love with chocolate, it has that effect!
Too Precious For Processed says
Oh delish! These look irresistible! Raspberry and chocolate…great combo!
Michele says
Thanks! I agree can’t really go wrong with it!

Michele says
Awesome, thrilled to hear it!

I plan to try these for a women’s retreat I have coming up. I think they will be a yummy addition to our weekend treats. It doesn’t hurt that raspberry and chocolate is one of my favorite combos! Question for you though, how long do you think these will keep in an airtight container? I hope to make them at least a day ahead, if possible, but I want to taste their best. Thanks for the recipe!
Kristine says
Made these today. Soooo yummy! Not crazy sweet like so many brownies. Warmed them slightly and added vanilla Hagen Daz and some chocolate raspberry sauce I had to make sundaes – extra yummy treat! Thanks for a great recipe! Will definitely make again.
Michele says
Oh my that sounds so delicious! Thrilled you liked them!
Virgilia says
Have you ever tried freezing these brownies to eat at a later date?
Michele says
I haven’t specifically with these, but other recipes of mine have worked well that way 🙂
Ashley says
I just want to thank you for this heavenly recipe! One of my favorite cakes is dark chocolate with raspberry filling. This is BETTER than any of the sugared up versions I’ve ever had. These brownies are moist, yet cakie, yet rich and fidget at the same time. Maybe it was beginners luck with this recipe, but it’s my favorite paleo desser so far, and I have tried A LOT!!! Thank you Momma!

Hi! Made these for Valentine’s day! What are the nutrition facts per serving?? Thanks
Pam Stevenson says
Great paleo brownies!
Jenna says
I don’t see the nutrition facts. Particularly interested in the net carbs. Looks yummy!!
casey says
These are not very good. They aren’t sweet and they’re really greasy (from the coconut oil).
